To all our readers who email me daily and requesting contacts for records.
Everyday I get email asking for contacts for records and how to obtain. I am going to write few words about my experience and best practice of approaching these collectors. First of all you will need to differentiate the seller vs collectors. 1. There are lots of record sellers and they all want your money. Most importantly if you tell them what you want and it automatically goes up in prices. With my personnel experience, when I started collecting Gramophone records. One so called collector has called every other collector and asked them not to sell/give me records. He tried to increase the price for a Gramophone records for Rs. 20k-30k. Do not get involve with these people and I all you going to do is spend so much money and loose your interest in this hobby. 2. Collectors who are complain so much that expats take all the records out of the country. They will waste your time talking nonsense by trying to tell you how important they are. But the fact of the matter is they collect for their personnel benefit and never share any song or even an image of the records. Don't get involve with them, these guys are worse than sellers and they do nothing and they don't let anyone else to enjoy or do anything to the society. 3. Genuine collectors who collect them for years. These people will give you records mainly due to their age or lack of interest in the hobby anymore. These are the people who worth buying the records. Also they will not ask huge sums for records and they also help you in many ways to continue the hobby. Some of these collectors are in our about us page. These guys are the true collectors and the money you spent on them actually really worth it. Finally we have so many Gramophone, LP's and EP's with duplicates. We will soon create a competition style give away contest soon. And this is for free. If I can help you in anyways I will. But unfortunately I don't sell records and all gramophone, LP & EP records in excess will be listed under completions section soon. Some of these records sells under excess of R.s 50,000. Stay tuned...
